Litter in the town is a problem that was highlighted during our consultation. So far we’ve worked proactively with East Dunbartonshire Council to install new bins on Cowgate and worked with Scottish Canals to install our own bins on the canal.
We’re happy to help install more bins. If you feel that a bin would help in your area, then all we ask is that you, or a group of like-minded people, take responsibility for bag changing and placing full bags near existing Council maintained bins.

We also work in partnership with Kirkintilloch Action to organise litter picks from time to time.

Finally though, a plea for our town and to Love Kirky a little bit more. Our litter problem happens because people drop litter. Please encourage everyone you know to put litter into bins or take it home with them and help Keep Your Kirky Beautiful!!
